~ Stewardship • Donations • Memorials ~

At Saint George we do not pass the trays during the Liturgy so please leave your Sunday offering and money for votive candles in the tray in the narthex as you enter the church.

Your donation can be used for stewardship, memorials or a gift to the parish. There are also envelopes for checks and cash. If you are designating a gift for a birthday or anniversary, for a baptism or a name day, for someone who is sick or for a departed loved one, please add a memo to your donation so that these people can be remembered in the prayers.

~ Notes from the Bulletin ~

OCTOBER IS FOOD PANTRY MONTH AT SAINT GEORGE

The churches in Norwood each take a month during which they make an extra effort to collect for the local Food Pantry. At Saint George, our month is October. Please contribute generously this month (and always.) There is a need for canned and packaged food items, as well as personal care products. Monetary donations are also accepted.

There is a grocery carriage outside the church; unless it is pouring rain, please leave your items there. Everything we collect is delivered to the food pantry on Thursday mornings; let us know if you are interested in helping.

SAINT RAPHAEL LITURGY & PARISH BREAKFAST

Set aside Saturday, November 7th. At 8:30 am there will be Diving Liturgy for Saint Raphael of Brooklyn, followed by a parish breakfast. The meal will be an informal discussion about our parish, the last 105 years, and what the next five to ten years might look like. There are no plans, no votes, no budgets — just a chance to listen and share ideas. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

MINISTRY FAIR

The first Sunday of our Fair included the arrival of an Ice Cream truck with treats for everyone. No complaints about that. The second Sunday was in the middle of torrential rains. But the Fair forged ahead and many of you asked how you can help your church.

Thank you! Just because the Fair ended doesn’t mean you can’t ask and seek ways to offer your gifts at Saint George. And don’t be surprised if some of the folks already engaged in this work approach you and ask if you are willing to join in the ministries of the parish.

SUNDAY MORNING PROGRAM IS BACK

Class is in session: Our students and teachers are the first to receive communion. The homily also shifts to the end of the service — this is to allow more time for learning since two groups meet in the hall where we also have coffee hours. A third class meets in the parish office and the older class is now meeting in the back of the church after everyone has received holy bread and exited the nave.
