Your Gift Builds Confidence, Connection, and Community.

YEAR-END ANNUAL APPEAL

Dear Friends of BDASC,

As we reflect on this past year, one thing stands out: our community is growing—and so are the needs of the families we serve. More South Carolinians than ever are reaching out for support, education, and connection. In response, BDASC remains deeply committed to standing beside every individual living with a bleeding disorder.

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve been able to meet those needs in powerful ways. This year alone, we provided $28,500 in direct financial assistance to our members, helping families navigate unexpected challenges. We also awarded 6 Academic Scholarship, and 68 travel grants, supporting meeting attendance, family events, summer camp travel, and essential HTC visits, —a total of $4,700 invested directly into keeping families connected to care and community.

Your generosity has allowed us to strengthen programs, expand advocacy efforts, and create safe, meaningful experiences for children, teens, and young adults across the state. You make it possible for families to find community, for kids to discover confidence, for teens to find their voice, and for young adults to grow into the leaders who will carry our mission forward.

Families feel that impact every day. As community member Sanjay Bhatt shared:

“That means the world. Understanding that we're not alone in this fight and having community and people to help support us and navigate through the unknown. It's been really comforting.”

Yet as our membership grows, so do the costs of delivering the high-quality, life-changing programs you’ve helped us build. Travel, venues, supplies, and essential program needs have all increased—and still, we remain committed to ensuring that every family, regardless of financial or medical challenges, has access to the care, connection, and opportunities they deserve.

Looking ahead, our focus is clear: We are preparing our kids, teens, and young adults for adulthood—giving them the knowledge, confidence, and community they need to thrive. And we are nurturing the next generation of adults who will remain engaged, empowered, and deeply connected to BDASC throughout their lives.

To continue this mission, we need your support now more than ever.

Will you make a gift today to ensure BDASC can continue providing essential programs, leadership development, and lifelong support for our growing community? All donations, large and small make a difference in the community we serve.

Your donation will help:

  • Provide education and support for newly diagnosed families
  • Expand youth leadership and transition-to-adulthood programs
  • Offset rising program costs so families never have to choose between participating and paying bills
  • Strengthen community connection through outreach, advocacy, and statewide events
  • Support the continued growth of confident young adults who remain engaged in BDASC
  • Sustain our bleeding-disorders-only summer camp for kids and teens

Every gift—no matter the amount—helps secure the future of our community.

Thank you for believing in our mission, for lifting up families across South Carolina, and for helping us build a future filled with resilience, leadership, and hope.

With gratitude,

Sue Martin, Executive Director
