Down Under Partners

The Campbell Foundation has awarded a $100,000 research grant to Dr. Gabriel Duette and his team at The Westmead Institute for Medical Research (WIMR) in Australia. The funding will support the development of a novel HIV immunotherapy aimed at overcoming the virus’s ability to mutate and evade the immune system.

Read about Dr. Gabriel Duette's important work here.

Go Gators!

The first of our Florida-based grants was awarded to Dr. Mauricio Martins and his research team at the University of Florida/Scripps for $75,000. They are working to advance a long-acting HIV gene therapy. Read more about it here.

Florida Fast-Track Grants

With your continued support, The Campbell Foundation has selected three South Florida research teams for its Fast-Track Research Grant Program, which provides seed funding for innovative early-stage HIV research. The program helps investigators generate preliminary data needed to compete for larger national grants. Teams from the University of Miami, Florida International University, and Florida Atlantic University have each received $20,000. These investments aim to accelerate new discoveries, strengthen South Florida’s position as a leader in HIV research, and advance efforts toward improved treatments and, ultimately, a cure. You can read about this work and all our 2026 press releases here.

ATTENTION ALL NEXT-GEN RESEARCHERS!

Our October Letter of Intent (LOI) cycle is open through October 31, 2026. Submissions are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage eligible Principal Investigators to submit early.

To be eligible, your organization must not have received Campbell Foundation funding within the past year.

Please limit your LOI to two pages and include the following:

 - A brief description of the research aims in lay language

 - An estimated one-year budget

 - A list of collaborating research teams

 - An explanation of the novelty of the research

 - A description of the research's relevance to the broader HIV community within five to seven years of completion

FLORIDA AIDS WALK

Once again, we were proud to walk alongside our community partners for the 2026 Florida AIDS Walk, which raised more than $4 million. Thanks to matching funds from AIDS Healthcare Foundation, we increased The Campbell Foundation's donation to $30,000 to help make AIDS history!

For the past 31 years, we've funded more than 700 individual projects in the U.S. and around the globe. Your tax-deductible donations go directly into our operating account to help fund this groundbreaking scientific work.

On behalf of our Board of Directors and all our grantees, THANK YOU!
