At Community Works, we live by a simple truth: the people who are justice-impacted are the ones who know how to heal it.
We believe in the power of showing up for one another—because when we lead with our humanity, justice finally starts to feel real.
How We Are Doing the Work
The CW Restorative Hub Model—We have revamped our San Francisco Restorative Hubinto a vibrant, community-designed space for healing and connection, moving away from sterile, traditional service environments.

Bridging the Gap via Research— Our upcoming 2024-25 Impact Report documents our findings and showcases how your support supercharges our initiatives and expands our reach even further. It is more than a recap; it is our evidence that Justice Demands Humanity.
Impact Report Snapshot:
Survivor Safety— Last year, our Survivor Empowerment Program served 911 people, helping mothers regain legal custody and survivors secure safety.
Restorative Reentry— We supported 75 individuals in securing life-stabilizing housing and employment as they became healers in their own right.
Youth Accountability— Our Restorative Justice Diversion program facilitated genuine accountability for 36 youth, proving that repair is more powerful than punishment.
Launched by Community Works in 2006, ProjectWHAT! (We’re Here And Talking) began with youth researching and creating a curriculum to support the 2.7 million children nationwide with incarcerated parents. For two decades, these youth advocates have used their "voice, pride, and power" to improve the services and policies that affect their lives. Stay tuned for special events next month as we honor this legacy of youth power!
