Remembering Mike Pedelty

We are saddened by the passing of Michael V. Pedelty, a dedicated advocate and former Chair of our Board of Trustees. Mike generously shared his time, leadership, and heart with our organization, helping shape a stronger future for the youth we serve. His commitment to our mission and his years of service will be remembered with deep gratitude. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.

A huge thank you to Henritze Dental Group for hosting an amazing event at the beautiful Rockledge Mansion! The event brought together community leaders and friends for a wonderful evening, all in support of our youth and programs. Partnerships like this are vital, providing the essential funds we need to ensure every child has a safe place to grow and thrive. We are deeply grateful to Henritze Dental Group for their commitment to building brighter futures in Southwest Virginia!

From Club to Cart: Learning Decision-Making at the Farmers Market

Our Club members at the Eastern Montgomery Elementary School Club recently had a blast at their farmers market, in partnership with Feeding Southwest Virginia!


Members were given fake money and the freedom to shop for their favorite fruits and vegetables. This fantastic activity was designed to teach them the importance of being smart shoppers, making healthy choices, and practicing decision-making—all while filling their baskets with fresh produce!
 

Last month, our Club members had a fantastic and empowering experience at the Operation H.E.R. Strong Minds, Strong Girls Mental Health Summit! Presented by the Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline and LewisGale Regional Health, this event was a wonderful opportunity for our girls and their mentors to learn from experts in a fun, supportive environment. 

A huge thank you to Valley Wealth Group for partnering with us at the Vinton Baptist Club's recent Family Night!

Representatives from Valley Wealth Group spoke to parents about the fundamentals of financial planning and provided tips on securing their children's financial futures, from saving for college to managing household finances.
