As 2025 comes to a close, we’re filled with gratitude for the many ways our community has come together to support one another.

This year, the Western Colorado Community Foundation (WCCF) celebrated a significant milestone: surpassing $200 million in total assets as of September 30, 2025. With this growth, we are on track to distribute approximately $9 million in grants and scholarships across our region—resources made possible by the generosity of donors like you.

Our focus remains steadfast in addressing needs while nurturing opportunities for long-term community growth here in western Colorado. In 2025, that meant:

  • Responding to hunger and food insecurity: We distributed $950,000 to hunger relief organizations, including nearly $100,000 in emergency grants to help families affected by the freeze in SNAP benefits this Fall.

  • Supporting housing solutions: More than $1.6 million in grants went to projects addressing homelessness and affordable housing, helping stabilize our communities, especially the most vulnerable families

  • Meeting nonprofits where they are: Through our Meet the Moment initiative, we provided over $500,000 in support to local nonprofits navigating reductions in government funding. While we cannot replace lost funding streams, we can provide technical assistance to help nonprofits adapt and regroup to continue serving their constituents. In addition to grants, we offered group trainings on budget scenario planning and one-on-one consulting for executive directors and program staff.
  • Growing healthy connections: Our Heads Up Parenting campaign introduced two new characters and expanded education and outreach strategies, including bus stop flyers and radio spots. We also expanded into Garfield County. This work caught the attention of statewide foundations and the Attorney General, who visited our Community Foundation in September to learn more.

  • Supporting cutting edge projects: The Confluence Center of Colorado and CSU Western Campus Agrivoltaic Demonstration Site both came to fruition, celebrating grand openings in 2025. WCCF served as a valued thought partner to project organizers, and provided funding and access to other resources at critical points for both projects that are recognized as unique and cutting edge, not only in this community, but the American Southwest.

These achievements are made possible through the generosity of our donors, the vision of nonprofit partners, and the dedication of countless community members. Together, we’ve turned compassion into action, ideas into programs, and resources into meaningful change.

From all of us at WCCF, thank you for helping our communities thrive. Your support, trust, and commitment make every success possible — truly amplifying generosity across Western Colorado

Here’s to continuing this work—together—in 2026.

With gratitude,

The Western Colorado Community Foundation Team
