An Important Note From Our Founder
A Big Thank You To All Of Our Volunteers
I would like to give a shout-out to all our wonderful
volunteers ā€¦ā€œTHANK YOU!ā€ Volunteers are the backbone of Feeding Pets of the Homeless. In fact, during 2020 over 550 volunteer hours were reported! That equates to $34,256 in contributed volunteer services!

To give you an idea of the many ways they have helped us: They collect pet food at our Donation Sites and deliver to homeless encampments or to our pet food providers; they count the cans and bags and report it to our office; they work at wellness clinics alongside veterinarians who also volunteer their time; they work in the office at headquarters; they lead pet food drives at schools, offices and neighborhoods.

One the most needed jobs is to help Donation Sites count the amount of pet food and supplies that go out for distribution. Not all sites have the staff or time to do it. We need this information so we can report to our supporters and to the IRS.

Personally, I know the joy of driving up to a food bank to open my SUV so that the staff can unload all the pet food and supplies. They are so appreciative it warms my heart every time!

During ā€œGive a Dog a Boneā€ week volunteers stepped up their efforts and we are so grateful.

With gratitude,
Genevieve Frederick
