Your TDF Update: September 2025

2025 USDF FEI Youth Clinic Series with George Williams, supported by TDF

Big News! TDF and USDF Announce New Initiative

We are proud to announce the creation of the new “USDF Education Programs Support Fund,” which will be managed by TDF to benefit the United States Dressage Federations' nationwide educational programs.

Each year, USDF’s programs reach tens of thousands of dressage enthusiasts—from young riders just beginning their journey to seasoned professionals continuing their education. However, with increasing costs to organize these programs, USDF needs financial support to ensure that their educational programs can continue to be offered in a far-reaching, affordable way.

And you can help! Every gift made to TDF’s USDF Education Programs Support Fund will open the door to more learning, more inspiration, and more opportunities for those who love dressage.

Donors Make Dreams Come True

We congratulate Sydni Cook (UT), this year's recipient of the $25,000 Debbie McDonald Fund for FEI Riders Grant!

Sydni said, "Debbie has always been an inspiration to me, and receiving a grant in her name is incredibly meaningful. This support will allow me to continue my education with Anne Gribbons in Florida this winter, helping me grow as both a rider and a horsewoman. None of this would be possible without the incredible support of Leslie Edison and Winter Farms, who have supported me in developing Rosa Red from Training Level to FEI. I’m excited to carry these lessons forward in pursuit of my goals, and I’m committed to making the most of this opportunity.”

Two TDF Awards Presented at Festival of Champions

For the first time, TDF awarded its new $5,000 Dr. Anne L. Barlow Ramsay Fund Award at the recent U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions! R U 4 Me, bred by Hannah Heritage (VA) and owned and ridden by Molly Martin (AZ), received this award as the highest-scoring U.S.-bred horse in the Developing Prix St. Georges Championship. The owner and breeder will each receive $2,500.

Additionally, Christian Simonson (FL) received our $2,500 Patsy Albers Award, as he was the highest-placing Grand Prix rider who previously represented the U.S. at the North American Youth Championship (NAYC). Christian and Indian Rock, owned by Zen Elite Equestrian Center, secured the USEF FEI Grand Prix Dressage National Championship at the Festival.

2023 Wellington Dream Program

Reaching a Milestone

Connie Palazzolo (age 76) and Valdemar (age 24) came together 15 years ago, when Connie was getting back into riding after a 40-year hiatus. Now, we welcome them into the Century Club!

Connie said, "Because Valdemar is such a willing and patient partner, I have been able to learn and enjoy the discipline with this amazing horse.

"Training for our Century Club ride has been such a milestone for us as a very seasoned partnership. I am hopeful we still have many more years together to continue to advance through the levels of dressage. He is the love of my life."
