As you plan your IRA required minimum distributions, you may find that you do not need all of the money the government is requiring you to take. Consider using it for a charitable gift with an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution. This allows individuals age 70½ and older to make direct transfers to 501(c)(3) charities such as the Tallahassee Senior Citizens Foundation, without having to count the transfers as income for federal income tax purposes. It’s a win-win for you and the Senior Center! See our Charitable Distribution Form and talk with your IRA administrator to get started.
