Let the Games Begin!

Capital City Senior Games Torch Run

Wednesday, February 25 at 6:00 pm


The Senior Games kick off on Wednesday with a Torch Run. Bring the family and invite your friends to cheer on the athletes as they carry the flame around Cascades Park! 

Participate in the 1-mile Fun Walk immediately after the Torch Run.

Join the competitions! Encourage your friends to sign up!

The games take place across the City through March 17.

Try something new and meet great people. The Senior Games are more than sports - they’re about celebrating active living. Register online or pick up a Registration Packet at the Tallahassee Senior Center.

Screenings evaluate language challenges in aging, especially following stroke and for cognitive disorders. Offered by Sladjana Lukic, Research Scientist, FSU College of Communication Science and Disorders. No appointment needed.

Lunch 'n Learn with Tallahassee's Police and Fire Departments

Wed., March 4, 11:30 am

Personal safety for seniors involves proactive measures to enhance home security, prevent falls, and maintain awareness while in public. Learn strategies to protect yourself and your property, and improve situational awareness. Bring your questions and enjoy a catered Lunch. Register Here


Pain, Mood, and Healthy Aging: Strategies for Better Daily Living Lunch n’ Learn

Learn about the connection between chronic pain and emotional well‑being, and how age‑related changes in the body and brain affect daily life. Leon County Property Appraiser Exemptions

Leon County homeowners who meet certain requirements may qualify for money-saving property tax exemptions! 
For instance, there are exemptions for:

  • Widowers
  • Disabilities
  • Military & Veterans

The filing deadline is March 1.
