Supporting Seniors

Do You Need to Take a Required Minimum Distribution from Your IRA?

As you plan your IRA Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs), you may find that you do not need all of the money the government requires you to withdraw. Consider using some of it for a charitable donation with an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).

A QCD allows individuals age 70½ or older to make direct, tax‑free transfers (up to $111,000 in 2026) from a Traditional or Roth IRA to qualified 501(c)(3) charities, such as the Tallahassee Senior Citizens Foundation.

Making a QCD counts toward your required minimum distribution for the year and is nontaxable. It’s a win-win for you and the Senior Center!

Talk with your IRA administrator to get started.

Donations can be mailed to:

TSC Foundation, 1400 N. Monroe St., Tallahassee, FL, 32303

The TSC Foundation generates funding to support programs,

services and participants of Tallahassee Senior Services.

Donations and membership are tax deductible.

The Tallahassee Senior Citizens Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Organization - Federal Tax ID # 59-2040638. Contributions are Tax-Deductible as allowed by law. “A copy of the official registration #CH8035 and financial information may be obtained from the Division of Consumer Services by calling toll-free (800-435-7352) within the state or www.fdacs.gov/consumerservices. Registration does not imply endorsement, approval, or recommendation by the state.”
