Nearly $7.5M Reinvested Locally Through 2024-25 Annual Grant Cycle

As part of the TOT-TBID Dollars At Work program’s Annual Grant Cycle, the NTCA Board of Directors approved and recommended a total of nearly $7.5 million in tourism-generated funding for projects and programs designed to enhance community vitality and improve quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors. This funding unlocks $8.8 million in matching grants, for a cumulative investment of over $16 million in the North Lake Tahoe community.

Annual Grant Cycle Celebration + Mixer on Jan. 23

Join the North Tahoe Chamber and the North Tahoe Community Alliance for a co-hosted Annual Grant Cycle celebration and mixer at Sunnyside Restaurant on Thursday, January 23 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This free event will provide an opportunity to connect with local business leaders, learn how NTCA grants support a thriving, year-round economy, and celebrate the impactful projects funded through the TOT-TBID Dollars At Work program’s recent Annual Grant Cycle. TOT-TBID Dollars at Work Funding Available

Applications for 2025 Event Funding Due Jan. 10


The North Tahoe Chamber is accepting applications for sponsorship funding of events that are scheduled to take place in North Lake Tahoe in 2025. Submission criteria and the application process are outlined on the NTCA website. New events and events that were funded for the first time in 2024 are encouraged to apply. Funding decisions will be made by the NTCA Board of Directors at their March 5 meeting. Funding comes from the TOT-TBID Dollars At Work program.

Workforce Housing Project Funding is Available


The NTCA is committed to bringing short, medium and long-term housing projects and programs to life that benefit those who work locally and need stable housing. Although projects like Lease to Locals and the Workforce Housing Preservation Program have been consistently funded through TOT-TBID Dollars At Work, additional ideas are being sought for other programs that can make a difference for local workers. When the North Lake Tahoe Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) was formed by the business community, it created, for the first time, a way for both day and overnight visitors to help contribute to the region’s vitality. It also launched an entirely different way for our community to leverage revenues generated by tourism and a new opportunity for local decision-making related to reinvesting these funds back into our community.

Community Updates

NTFPD receives award


To support local programs that reduce wildfire risk in North and West Shore communities, the California Tahoe Conservancy recently awarded a grant of over $600,000 to the North Tahoe Fire Protection District. The funds will support three years of work, including planning for projects to improve forest health and reduce excess vegetation, expanding forest thinning projects in the wildland-urban interface, and efforts to expand the workforce in support of Firewise and Fire Adapted Communities by hiring a full-time assistant.

The Truckee-North Tahoe Transportation Management Association is conducting a survey in which responses will be used to improve commuter transportation options in the region. Everyone who works in the Tahoe-Truckee region is encouraged to complete the survey by Feb. 7, 2025.
