Announcements & Programs
If you need help accessing the government’s COVID-19 support programs, please Ask the Expert. The Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce and Cambridge Chamber of Commerce, along with Chamber Check which is powered by Axonfiy, have professionals offering free advice and guidance surrounding issues they may be having trying to steer their way through Federal and Provincial support programs to all business operators. Theses sessions happen every Tuesday and Thursday from 2-3 p.m. Visit www.chambercheck.ca
With many employees working from home, this has raised legitimate questions about how eligible employees can claim supplies and work-space-in-the-home expenses. On Dec 15, 2020 the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) made an announcement of changes to simplify the home office expense deduction as a follow up the Fall Economic Statement 2020: Supporting Canadians and Fighting COVID-19.

The CRA is offering two new Q&A sessions designed to provide an opportunity for employers and employer-focused organizations to have their questions answered about these changes.
