It is campaign season (again…) and people have asked our position on specific campaign policies and issues. World Trade Center® Delaware (WTC Delaware) does not comment on or endorse any political party, political position, or political policy. For almost 40 years, WTC Delaware has been a trusted neutral party.
We are a member of World Trade Centers Association® (WTCA), an international trade organization connecting more than 300 WTC locations in nearly 100 countries/territories. Our footprint extends across every inhabitable continent, including developed and emerging markets with political and economic systems that may be similar to or different from our own.
Per the WTCA Headquarters team in New York:
“As an apolitical organization, WTCA is uniquely positioned to connect people and businesses in the face of fluid trade policy and international agreements. The access WTCA provides is a constant in a world of shifting trade and economic policies. While trade policies may shift with the comings and goings of different administrations, WTCA remains a reliable network that Members—and the local business communities in Member cities—can count on to provide a platform for growing economic opportunities. With trade policies between states ever-evolving, WTCA has the expertise and reach to provide Members and the public with a truly global perspective. Business practices vary greatly from country-to-country and region-to-region. By providing Members with places—both virtual and physical—to connect, WTCA not only provides tools to operate, but provides direct access to experts, business leaders and companies in those markets themselves.”
WTC Delaware invites experts from both the private and government sectors, regardless of their political affiliation, to speak in our forums, networking events, or Galas. We also invite officials and members of the community to make a presentation at our Board meetings. We publish the Board meeting minutes on our website. More importantly, we invite two elected Members of the Delaware State General Assembly, one from each main party, to sit on our Board of Directors, not because we have to, but as a recipient of taxpayer funds, it is the right thing to do.
WTC Delaware staff will continue to provide impartial evidence-based data and information about matters such as trade regulations, tariff and nontariff barriers to trade, market entry strategies, trade financing, government assistance and agency referrals, logistics, trade leads, and trade missions to anyone in the Delaware community, including officials. Our work should not be construed as a political endorsement. WTC Delaware has been and will always be a trusted neutral party.

Delaware Trade Mission to Côte d’Ivoire: Forging New Partnerships and Fostering Economic Growth | |
We are thrilled to announce that Tungsten Global Consulting, with support from World Trade Center Delaware, is embarking on an exciting trade mission to Côte d’Ivoire this September 17 to 28! This mission represents a unique opportunity to expand Delaware's footprint in the burgeoning West African market and strengthen economic ties with one of Africa’s fastest-growing economies.
Led by distinguished Delaware delegates
The delegation is honored to include the Delaware Department of Agriculture represented by Jimmy Kroon, who is attending on behalf of Secretary Michael Scuse. Secretary Scuse’s leadership and commitment to expanding Delaware’s international business relationships have made this mission possible. His support was pivotal in welcoming the Ivorian delegation to Delaware and sharing our state's agricultural strategy and successes.
We are also grateful for the participation of Delaware State Treasurer Colleen Davis whose dedication to fostering economic growth and partnerships extends well beyond our state's borders. Davis’s involvement underscores Delaware's commitment to strengthening its international economic ties.
Special thanks to Delaware leaders and partners
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Delaware Governor John Carney, Lt. Governor Bethany Hall-Long and Matt Mayer, New Castle County Executive, for their exceptional leadership and for taking the time to meet with the delegation during their visit to Delaware. Their support has been instrumental in setting the stage for this mission's success.
We also wish to thank Senator Chris Coons and his office for their unwavering support and advocacy, which have been critical in bringing this mission to fruition. Senator Coons’ dedication to promoting Delaware’s interests globally is unmatched, and his influence continues to create significant opportunities for Delaware businesses.
Celebrating Delaware companies
This mission features the participation of prominent Delaware companies, including DiSabatino Construction, Walls Irrigation, Transfr, and Transformative Technologies. These companies are poised to make a significant impact in Côte d’Ivoire, leveraging their expertise in construction, irrigation, virtual reality training, and innovative energy technologies to build sustainable partnerships and explore new market opportunities.
A special gift from Delaware
In a gesture of goodwill, the State of Delaware will be presenting a special gift of trees to the Poro Region in Côte d’Ivoire. This act symbolizes our shared commitment to environmental stewardship and support for Côte d’Ivoire's efforts to diversify its economy. This gift will stand as a living testament to the strong and enduring relationship between our state and the people of Côte d’Ivoire.
Looking ahead to a prosperous future
This mission is an extraordinary opportunity for Delaware to expand its reach, enhance its international presence, and foster new business relationships that will benefit all parties involved. We are confident that this mission will result in prosperous outcomes for both Delaware and Côte d’Ivoire, and we look forward to celebrating the many successes that will stem from this collaboration.
Stay tuned for more updates on this remarkable journey and the fruitful partnerships that are sure to follow!
