Applications Are Open for USHJA Grants and Scholarships
|
|
The J.T. Tallon Memorial Equitation Grant was developed by friends and family to honor the late, J.T. Tallon, a Lexington, Virginia, horseman and USHJA member who dedicated his career to equestrian sport for over 40 years. Each year, one junior rider with limited financial resources who has qualified for a national equitation championship at a fence height of 3' or higher will be awarded $1000 to assist with the expense of attending the competition. Deadline to apply is August 1, 2021

The Hamel Scholarship for Further Education is designed to encourage further education among equestrians. Through a generous donation from the Kristen and James Hamel Family Foundation, the USHJA Foundation awards up to $25,000 to be used for college, graduate, trade, or professional school to one USHJA member each year. Interested applicants must apply by May 15.

Zone grants and scholarships are available to all members who hold a current paid membership (excludes free Outreach memberships) with the USHJA. Individual grant or scholarship criteria are outlined in the application.

New in 2021, the USHJA Hunter Team Challenge offers a unique team experience for riders competing in the 2’-2’6” Children’s Pony Hunters, 2’6” Low Child/Adult Hunters and 3’ Children’s/Adult Amateur Hunter divisions.
Riders also have an opportunity to earn bonus Zone Horse of the Year Points in their respective divisions.

USHJA Town Halls with President, Mary Knowlton

The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association is pleased to announce 2021 dates for a series of Virtual Town Halls with USHJA President Mary Knowlton (formerly Babick). The Town Halls will be held on Zoom on the following dates:
- All Members - May 24 at 7 p.m. ET
- Zones 6-8 - June 21 at 7 p.m. ET
- All Members - July 19 at 7 p.m. ET
- Zones 9-10 - August 23 at 8 p.m. ET

Don't Miss Out! Affiliate Championships Return to Las Vegas!

The USHJA National Championships are set to return to The Las Vegas National, CSI4*-W, November 15-21, 2021, pending approval by US Equestrian. The USHJA Affiliate Championships will include expanded offerings for 2021, for Juniors and Amateurs in the Hunters and Equitation at fence heights of 2' and 2'6" and Jumpers from .70m to .90m
