Miami New Drama has garnered critical acclaim with their ambitious production of 7 Deadly Sins, an innovative, outdoor theatrical event presented from November through January in seven storefronts along Miami Beach’s historic Lincoln Road.

A diverse group of nationally recognized, award-winning playwrights Hilary Bettis, Nilo Cruz, Moisés Kaufman, Rogelio Martinez, Dael Orlandersmith, Carmen Pelaez and Aurin Squire premiere seven newly commissioned short plays, each focused on one deadly sin: Lust, Greed, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Gluttony and Pride. In rotation over 90 minutes, small groups of theatergoers maintain social distance, listening through headphones while actors perform the short plays safely behind the windows of the transformed Lincoln Road storefronts.

7 Deadly Sins, created with the support of the Lincoln Rd Business Improvement District (LRBID) and Mayor of Miami Beach Dan Gelber, finds an innovative approach to bring audiences and live performances back to one of the world’s most famous commercial and pedestrian thoroughfares.

Earth Speakr is an interactive, augmented reality, artwork by artist Olafur Eliasson that amplifies kids’ views on the future well-being of the planet. The artwork invites adults and today’s decision-makers, change-makers, and global leaders to listen up to what kids have to say.

Everyone can download the Earth Speakr app and animate their environment using playful interactive technology. Kids and young people below the voting age can choose to take part by giving their voice and speak up for their local surroundings and for the planet.

Earth Speakr is created by Olafur Eliasson with his studio, kids, creative partners, and a group of researchers and experts, and is funded by the Federal Foreign Office on the occasion of the German Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2020 and realized in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut.
