C LOSE QUARTERS COMMISSIONS LAUNCHES TONIGHT!
Oolite Arts is launching its first ever online film festival Close Quarters Commissions , showcasing the creativity of South Florida filmmakers during this trying time of tight spaces and limited resources.

Twelve filmmakers were each commissioned to make a film up to 3-minutes long during 2 weeks of quarantine.

Participating filmmakers include:

Kareem Tabsch is the co-founder and co-director of Miami's largest art house cinema, O Cinema, an Award-winning documentary filmmaker and an Arts Advocate who strongly believes in the power of the arts, particularly film, to enrich lives and revitalize communities.

Kareem's most recent directorial work, Mucho Mucho Amor: The Legend of Walter Mercado , is currently tending on Netflix. Every day for decades, Walter Mercado — the iconic, gender non-conforming astrologer — mesmerized 120 million Latino viewers with his extravagance and positivity.


Nu Deco Ensemble performs a symphonic suite of Aretha Franklin's music at The Adrienne Arsht Center's Knight Concert Hall in Miami, FL.
