While the City of Miami Beach’s traditional July 4 th  festivities have been canceled, we are still celebrating! Check out a variety of virtual activities your entire family can partake in as we celebrate Independence Day.

  • Home Decorating Contest: Bring out your best red, white and blue décor and share photos to the city’s Facebook, Instagram or Twitter accounts of your patriotic designs starting now through July 4th.
  • Sidewalk Art Contest for Kids: Kids of all ages are encouraged to participate in a chalk art contest. Share your photos to the city’s social media platforms.
  • Tune Into a Virtual Firework Display Paired with Music by the New World Symphony: Starting at 9 p.m. on MBTV (Channels 660 on Atlantic Broadband or 99 on AT&T U-Verse) or the City’s Facebook account.

Coral Morphologic is the leading creator of innovative underwater media chronicling Earth's imperiled coral reefs. Coral Morphologic's unique methodology blends science and art in a way that enamors popular culture with the beauty of coral while inspiring the next generation to restore the reefs and protect the planet. The Coral City Camera is an underwater camera streaming live from an urban coral reef in Miami, Florida. The CCC is a public art and scientific research project by Coral Morphologic produced with Bridge Initiative and Bas Fisher Invitational .

Coral Morphalogic's work will be included in Miami Beach's inaugural No Vacancy program this fall.
 
Take a journey back to the Bandshell with The Rhythm Foundation and explore the artists and sounds you may find on a future night out. Nu Deco Ensemble, Jason Joshua + Afrobeta rep' for the 305; while artists like Cimafunk + Sinkane highlight the talents seen at annual festivals such as Ground Up, Global Cuba, and Afroroots!

The City of Miami Beach Cultural Affairs staff is available to assist artists and arts organizations in identifying nationwide and local recovery resources for artists and arts organizations. If you or your organization has been impacted by Covid-19, you may be eligible for assistance.
