The Bass is delighted to welcome you back to the museum with new exhibitions Open Storage and The Willfulness of Objects and returning favorites like Mickalene Thomas' Better Nights. We hope that art can bring you joy and spark creativity as our community works together to recover.
During your visit, receive a free reusable face mask designed by artist Carlos Amorales (while supplies last). Created in collaboration with designer Janet Martínez and the NGO WEIGO (Women in Informal Employment: Globalizing & Organizing), this project supports the family businesses of various sewing workshops in Mexico affected by the pandemic.
The Bass is committed to safety protocols such as reduced building occupancy, mask-only entry, physical distancing, temperature checks, rigorous sanitizing and much more. Walk-in visits are welcome, although if you prefer to purchase a ticket in advance, they have those options, too. For more information, visit The Bass' FAQs.
For members of our community who prefer outdoor and virtual experiences at this time, The Bass offers you multiple ways to engage with contemporary art. Go beyond our doors and explore our latest public art initiatives, Art Outside and Wandering Waves, or #Museumfromhome through The [Virtual] Bass.
