Your Vision for the Future!
Welcome back to "Your Vision for the Future!" Dedicated to news about our future planning efforts, what we know, where we're headed, and what we want to hear from each of you.
Focus Groups
We’ve made it through 6 of our 11 Focus Group sessions. Participation has been enthusiastic, and the feedback is helping us spot community trends.

Thus far, the popular discussion topics include:
● Aging infrastructure
● Maintaining the quality of amenities
● Operations and efficiency
● Flexibility and use of space
● Growth of the surrounding communities

These trends will help guide our planning effort. We will let you know what more we learn from future sessions.
"Ask Me" Tables
The "Ask Me" Table at Orchard Creek Lodge is turning out to be the perfect complement to our focus groups. It allows residents to share their opinions and views and ask questions.

Much of what we hear reinforces the feedback from the focus group sessions, plus a few more topics of interest have surfaced, such as:
● Capital funding
● Website
● Communications

This week, we will add a new feature to the "Ask Me" Table. If you don't have time to attend a session, we are making the Focus Group questionnaire available for residents to complete. To sweeten the deal, pick up a chocolate as you chat with our Advisory Council members and get your questions answered.
Flash Survey
Thank you for participating in last week’s flash survey, where we asked the question, “Which would you like Sun City Lincoln Hills to focus on in the next five years?” We received 650 responses with 256 write-in comments.

A recap of the results is in the image below.

Overall, we find a desire to maintain a balance between stability and progress. The feedback also underscores the importance of engaging the community, addressing maintenance issues, refining existing operations and services, and planning for the future.

Stay tuned for more Flash Surveys in future eNews.

Mail Bag
Our email address has been buzzing with questions and comments. Here are a few that might interest you.

Considering that members of the Board of Directors come and go every year, wouldn't the commitment to a 5-year strategic plan be fleeting?
The purpose of a strategic plan is to help guide the Board and community with a roadmap for the future. It does not commit present or future Boards or funds; it is only a guide to help navigate
through the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Also, the strategic plan is a living document and will change with the times. It needs to be reviewed regularly and updated annually to stay
current. We last had a strategic plan a while ago, and it will take some time to weave this concept back into the fabric of our operations.

Flash Surveys and Focus Groups seem so limited. Why not do a community-wide survey of all the residents?
We will get to a community-wide survey, but we are still getting ready. Focus groups and flash surveys are used to explore topics and identify trends before we tackle a community-wide, full-blown study. It's essential for us now, as we need to understand operational issues and what's changed post-Covid. We know that the timing and focus of a community-wide survey are critical. Topics must be in context, and questions must be quantitative and actionable. Plus, the community, as a whole, must be ready to engage. We have more work to do before this stage, so be patient and stay tuned!

We will share more from the mailbag in future eNews about "Your Vision." In the meantime, keep those emails coming!
We continue to extend offers to groups, clubs, and gatherings of residents who want to learn more. If you're interested, feel free to email us at SP@sclhca.com.
