We’re reaching out to raise awareness about consumer protection concerns related to certain carrier practices and to encourage agents to individually share these concerns with the California Department of Insurance (DOI).

⚖️ Please note: This effort does not involve collective bargaining or coordination on pricing or commissions. Each member should act independently and in full compliance with all applicable antitrust and trade laws.

We are sharing this message widely—including with nonmembers—because this issue impacts every agent and every consumer we serve.

Here’s how you can help:

1. Join CAHIP - If you are not yet a member, please consider joining. Your membership directly supports our professional advocacy at both the state and federal levels, ensuring that agents’ voices—and the value we bring to employers, employees, and consumers (individuals and families)—remain strong and protected.
2. Take Action - The Idaho Department of Insurance recently issued a bulletin addressing unfair trade practices affecting the Medicare market. We’re asking California agents to respectfully urge our DOI to review similar concerns.
