Public Policy Alert

Public hearings for the state budget have been announced by the NH Senate Finance Committee, and it's critical that your voice be heard!

We need a strong turnout at these hearings to make sure the recommendations of the 10-Year Mental Health Plan - to improve timely access to mental health care - make it across the finish line.

The proposed budget does not include full funding for the 14 priority recommendations of the recently released 10-Year Mental Health Plan (see pages 3-8).

Our message is simple:
The 10-Year Mental Health Plan must be 100% funded.

Please come and testify, tell how mental illness has impacted you or your loved one, and end by asking for full funding for the priority recommendations of the 10-Year Mental Health Plan.

Will you #Act4MentalHealth and stand up for suicide prevention at the upcoming budget hearings?

Tuesday, May 7, 1:00 p.m.
Representatives' Hall
2nd floor of the New Hampshire State House

The Concord hearings tend to run long, so be prepared to wait if you plan to testify.  We anticipate the public hearing will break from 5:00 - 6:00 pm, at which time pizza will be available at the NAMI NH office.  If you are not able to attend in the afternoon, please join us in the evening as the NH Senate Finance Committee will likely still be hearing testimony.

Wednesday, May 8, 7:00 p.m.
Aldermanic Chambers
3rd floor of Manchester City Hall

Lawmakers need to hear from Granite Staters affected by mental illness and suicide to understand why 100% funding of the 10-Year Mental Health Plan is critical.
