Dear Temple Sinai Members and Friends:
I am writing to ask you to vote in the 2020 World Zionist Congress Elections. The First Zionist Congress was held in 1897 in Basel Switzerland, where Theodore Herzl introduced the idea of an independent Jewish State.
A vote in the World Zionist Congress Elections is your unique opportunity to influence what happens in Israel and to support our Reform movement in creating change in Israeli society. The leadership in the Congress will help decide the allocation of at least $1 billion a year spent in Israel and around the world.
This election will especially benefit the Reform Movement in Israel. It receives one fourth of its budget from the World Zionist Congress via the Jewish Agency. The Reform Movement in Israel is our best voice on the ground in Israel to strengthen Jewish values that are rooted in equality and inclusion and that support the values of religious pluralism and diversity.
To vote, between now and March 11th, go to
and choose the VOTE REFORM slate. There will be a fee of $7.50 and any self-identified Jew who is over 18 is permitted to vote (the fee is reduced to $5.00 for 18 - 25 year olds). Step by step instructions on how to vote are at
When you vote the Reform slate you will be electing several of our own congregants at Temple Sinai, including Liz Dunst, Rabbi Jonah Pesner, and Rabbi Hannah Goldstein.
