A publication of the Mississippi Low-Income Child Care Initiative | September 2024

Childcare directors and staff, we've got a special treat for you as we all gear up for the Election. MLICCI is joining Mississippi Black Women's Roundtable and a sleight of partners for Power of the Sister Vote Boot Camp on September 5th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.! Our very own Executive Director Carol Burnett and Communications Director Zakiya Summers are on the speakers' panel.

Enter a fun and interactive learning environment and tap into ways to educate parents and families on voting in order to build a foundation for the next generation of Mississippi voters.

This is a virtual event open to ALL advocates working in childcare to help get out the vote! Plus, participants who complete the training will also enter to win a $30 virtual gift card to jump start their journey into voter mobilization.

Employment Equity for Single Moms Program (EESM)

MLICCI’s Employment Equity for Single Moms (EESM) program provides single moms with young children case management and one-on-one intensive application assistance for Mississippi’s CCPP program, serving hundreds of single moms each year and making child care immediately accessible so they can go to work or learn.

ABOUT MLICCI
In Mississippi, one of the biggest barriers to employment for low-income single moms is access to child care. Because we believe that no mother should have to choose between the job she needs and the child she loves, MLICCI works to improve the state’s child care assistance program and strengthen the financial viability of the child care centers that serve low-income mothers.
