Final Fall Soft Skill Credential Day

Friday, November 8 is the final Credential Day of the fall semester. There are no WTMC classes but WCC classes meet as scheduled.

Soft Skills are the key to WTMC student success. Students have been working to demonstrate college-ready soft skills and teachers have been supporting that work with clear expectations and specific feedback since the first credential day.

On the final credential day of the semester, WTMC teachers/advisors, administrators, and counselors meet to discuss student progress and appropriate class placements for winter semester.

A Guide to Soft Skill Grades

Grades are posted in PowerSchool after school on the Wednesday before Credential Day. Students can expect to see one of the following soft skill grades for each class in PowerSchool:

R = Ready: The student has demonstrated college-readiness in BOTH academic and soft skills and is ready for college-level coursework.

S = Satisfactory: The student has demonstrated college-ready soft skills but needs more academic support.

N = Needs Improvement: One or more soft skills needs work, or the student needs to be more consistent with soft skills in this class. Check PowerSchool for teacher comments, attendance, or missing work.

Career Pathway Panels 2024!

WTMC’s annual career exploration event will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 9:00 - 12:00. No afternoon classes. Students dismissed at noon.

Every fall, middle college students (9th graders attend a different event, see below) attend two panels or tours of their choice filled with current WTMC students, alumni, and WCC program advisors to learn about the college programs and career paths they want to explore at WTMC.

Pathway Panelists Needed!

Students and their experiences in college classes and programs make this event truly meaningful and authentic for our younger students. 2nd & 3rd year students are encouraged to volunteer to be panelists.

9th Grade Building Blocks 2024!

Tuesday, Nov. 26, all 9th graders attend a half-day event focused on looking ahead to next year and beyond. Join WTMC staff and alumni for three 35-minute sessions about finding success in the future.

Students are grouped by BASE. The day begins and ends with your BASE advisor to prepare for and debrief the event. No afternoon classes. Students dismissed at noon.

Ready for Winter Weather?

Is your family prepared for school closings? Last year, the first snow was in October! Now is the time to make sure you’re ready.

WTMC uses the WCC Alert system to send information about snow days or other campus emergencies.

Students should log in to the WCC Gateway to be sure they’re signed up to receive notifications. Mobile phones, home phones, and emails can, and should, be added.

Meet our new WTMC Security Officers!

You've probably seen them around campus at lunch or at the beginning and end of the day helping with traffic flow. But have you stopped to say hello? You should! They're awesome!

Sam Davis and Angela Wright are the new security officers working with our students and staff. Next time you see them, give a fist bump!

Yearbooks are Available for Purchase!
