We're committed to keeping you informed and staying engaged with you about your water system (Madden Creek Water System), which has surpassed its useful life and urgently needs replacement.

TCPUD is investing in your water system and has initiated project implementation for its full reconstruction.

Project implementation includes:

  • Installing 32 new fire hydrants to address poor hydrant spacing.
  • Replacing 3.5 miles of water mains.

The new fire hydrants, when added to the system’s existing hydrants and connected to new water mains, will improve water availability for fire suppression. Hydrants will be installed as needed every 400 to 600 feet to meet current hydrant spacing standards for residential neighborhoods and commercial areas.

These improvements (new hydrants and water mains) will allow the system to perform better under demand, such as when hydrants are needed to fight fire.

The Project will be constructed in a multi-phased construction schedule. The cost to fully reconstruct the water system is currently estimated at $12.8 million. We are evaluating funding options and will provide additional details as we learn more.
