We're committed to keeping you informed and staying engaged with you about your water system (Madden Creek Water System), which has surpassed its useful life and urgently needs replacement.

TCPUD is investing in your water system and has initiated project implementation for its full reconstruction.

A Look at Leaks
The aging water mains are actively failing, measured in part by the number of leaks your water system experiences. The Madden Creek Water System Master Plan evaluated the number of leaks in the water system over 12 months and showed that it experienced more than 20 times the standard leaks per 100 miles of pipe. The labor hours necessary to repair these leaks were more than six times the labor hours used to repair leaks within other areas of our service area when adjusting for system size.

Planned water system improvements include:

  • Replacing 3.5 miles of water mains.
  • Replacing 124 water service lines.
  • Installing 32 new fire hydrants.
  • Installing new water meters for all connections (to comply with state law).
The Project will be constructed in a multi-phased construction schedule. The cost to fully reconstruct the water system is currently estimated at $12.8 million. We are evaluating funding options to complete the reconstruction and will provide additional details as we learn more.
