From the Klein Collection:

Etrog Box

An engraved inscription referencing the Hadar tree and a little sculpted fruit on the lid identify this 19th-century piece as an etrog box! Vessels were made with this structure of overlapping silver scales starting in Germany in the early 17th century. They’re called “Traubenpokal,” which literally translates to “grape cups.”
