From the Klein Collection: Mordechai Sculpture

In kingly regalia, Mordechai sits upon an ornately-decorated horse in this wooden representation of a scene from the Purim story. The horse’s saddle is carved with verses from the Book of Esther. This sculpture was made in the Middle East in the 19th century.
