MEMBER TIP
Stinging Insect Injury Prevention - Important Information for Employers and Workers

By: Accident Fund

More than two million Americans are allergic to stings from insects like bees, wasps, hornets and yellow jackets. These individuals are at risk of life-threatening reactions, but even those without a history of allergic reactions can experience a severe response.

Employers and employees should take precautions necessary to avoid work-site insect stings and be aware of sting prevention and response tactics.

Employer Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate work-sites for hazardous bee and insect exposures.
  • Establish safety protocol and provide proper protective equipment (PPE) and training to prevent insect stings. Training should educate employees on:
  • Potential exposures
  • Exposure prevention
  • Insect identification
  • How to respond if stung

MEMBER NEWS
GETTING TO KNOW NICK GASIOROWSKI
My name is Nicholas (Nick) Gasiorowski and I am the Market Manager for Manpower Northern Metro Detroit which supports Macomb, St. Clair, and Oakland counties. Since the Chamber is such an influential force that powers the economy, both Manpower and myself are proud to back the initiative by putting great people to work. As a key leader in the organization, I helped Manpower achieve 400% growth in the last 18 months. Additionally, I sat on the Board of Directors for my condominium complex where I held the position of Treasurer.

I'd like to apply that same level of leadership to the Chamber and have decided to run for the open Board of Directors seat, where I can assist with the Region's growth by attracting new business. I truly believe a fresh perspective is often conducive to growth and I am passionate about this community. I have made the Chamber work for my business, so let me put the Chamber to work for you!

Vote for Nick for the Board of Directors opening. I can be reached at my cell 810.706.2554 or email .
