How often should I have my transmission serviced?
Transmission fluid is designed to clean, cool and lubricate the parts in your transmission that work in very tight tolerances. New transmission fluid is a translucent pink, when it darkens it takes on brown tones this means it is suspending abrasive particulates in the fluid that can cause damage. Keep the transmission fluid clean with servicing the transmission every 20 to 30,000 miles or as it starts to darken.
