It’s hard for our chamber staff to stop talking long enough for our CEO to get a word in edgewise. Check out the video and see what we mean.
Leave it to Dr. Chris, Gresham Animal Hospital, to put his whole heart, soul, and “head” into raising money for the Salvation Army.  Pick you kettle…Do you want him to be in a mohawk for a month or to match the amount in the kettle? Contribute at his office or at the Friday AM’s. Then enjoy the results.
Travel for the holidays could be far away or in your neighborhood. Just ask Erin Beggs, Golden Ticket Adventures or Brianna Bigham, Meals on Wheels.  Use your car to travel for Meals on Wheels, or purchase a plane ticket for a family vacation.  Chamber members support each other.

Member Tips, Tools & Press Releases
This year our Employee Giving Campaign raised $1.8 million – supporting over 1,000 organizations. We are so lucky to be able to give back to the community that gives us so much, and proud of our employees for making Oregon stronger.

Teach Generosity

Talk with your child about charity. Put money into perspective by showing them that there are many other things — such as love of family and our fellow mankind — that are invaluable.
Channel Selection

WiFi channel selection is about getting your network signal separated from the “noise” for better connection. Often wireless points have tools to help you select between the 2.4GHz 1-11 channels or the 5GHz 36-165 options.

Did you know?

Russia produces the most oxygen in the world.
Mandarin Tips

To greet someone in Mandarin, you say 你好?
(Nǐ hǎo? - nee how), which means “hello” or “how are you?”

Business Tips

For first year businesses, projections should be monthly or quarterly. For years two through five, they can be quarterly or annual. Either way, charts and graphs can be stronger than words and phrases.
Raking leaves burns as many calories as walking 3.5 mph, horseback riding, or water aerobics—and more than a general weight-lifting session or bowling. Just thirty minutes of raking and squatting to scoop up the leaves and transporting them gives you the recommended daily dose of moderate exercise.

Social Media Holiday Marketing Tips

1. Don't always sell, sell, sell - ENGAGE with your customers!
2. Offer something of value: share family traditions, post photos of team/office spirit.
3. Cross promote with other businesses, it's the perfect time for you both to benefit!
Oregon's Labor Law Compliance Will Impact Your Business!

2019 - There are more legislative changes to labor laws that take affect January 1 st , and the state mandatory retirement program will impact every business, especially if you do not offer retirement benefits to your employees. Keep it simple and keep it compliant.

SEPSIS and the Flu

We have all been more than inundated with information about this year's dangerous flu, but are you aware of all that can result from contracting this year's flu? Health experts aren't sure why this year is different than others, but it is now evident that it can be deadly and taking precautions could save a life. Get your flu shot-although the flu vaccination isn't likely to be as effective this year as in the past, it's still very important. The flu can weaken the immune system which leaves people of all ages more vulnerable to serious infections. One of the complications of these infections is called SEPSIS and has been mentioned often during this year's flu epidemic. Severe sepsis strikes more than a million Americans every year and 15 to 30 percent of those people die.  Click here to find out what you need to know .
