Community Events and Festivals Are Important
to All of Us
BACC hosts a number of large community events throughout the year and once we get to the other side of the current COVID-19 pandemic, we will again.
The value of these events is tremendous. For instance, our yearly Wine Walks bring 200 to 300 residents and visitors from throughout the area to downtown Barrington to wine, shop and dine. These events help make Barrington a destination and result in thousands of dollars in sales receipts that day. Those sales are incredibly meaningful to our small retail shops.
Our Uncork Barrington event brings 700 to 800 people from Barrington and surrounding towns, helping to establish Barrington as a go-to destination. Later that night, those visitors fill our restaurants.
In the Barrington area we also have two highly successful shopping malls - Deer Park Town Center and the Arboretum of South Barrington; as well as a popular visitor's destination - the Historic Town of Long Grove. Their summer concerts, annual festivals and special events help retailers and restaurants of all sizes, and the employees who work for them, often people who live right here in our community.
When the air clears and we can convene again, be sure to support these events. Their success impacts the success of hundreds of businesses.
In addition to the business value, these events create a sense of community, bring families together, and give us all a way to connect with our neighbors. Right now, that seems a great privilege.
