We have officially entered the season of Lent, the forty days leading up to Easter. It is a time for reflection, repentance, prayer and taking account of where we are in our relationship with Jesus. During Lent, the church will be focusing on the life of Simon Peter. I will be doing a series of sermons and we’ll also be offering a six week Lenten Bible Study on Simon Peter. The study is video based and features sites from the Holy Land. There is also an optional book titled
Simon Peter: Flawed but Faithful Disciple,
by Adam Hamilton. The cost is $15 for a book it is available on Kindle for $9.36.
There are several opportunities for you to plug in:
- Sundays beginning March 10th from 4:00 to 5:00 pm at Wiltsie and Mary Cretsinger’s home (905 Stagecoach Rd)
- Mondays beginning March 11th from 12:00-1:00 pm at the church
- Thursdays beginning March 14th from 6:00-7:00 pm at the church
- On-Line. It will be set up as a Facebook closed group. We’ll get you the link for the group shortly. Each week there will be a video link to watch the lesson, along with a question or two for you to reflect on and respond to. Our hope is that this will be an interactive group. This is our first attempt using this format, so we welcome any and all feedback.
I hope to see you on Sunday as we begin our Lenten journey together.
