In-Person Worship Continues
It's Communion Sunday

During the past three Sundays, we've had a capacity crowd for our return to in-person worship. It's so great to see friends in the sanctuary.

The church will again open for worship this week.

Reservations are required. We will have one service beginning at 10:30am.

All California Department of Public Health recommendations are being followed, including mask wearing, social distancing and limited capacity in all areas - including the courtyard.

The service will include sermon, soloist, hymns and liturgical reading with response.

Please take a minute to reserve your space for this exciting restart at Piedmont Community Church.

Cheryl Vaughn

Havens Elementary planted a tree in the memory of Cheryl Vaughn, a beloved, very active member and volunteer at Piedmont Community Church.

Among her many gifts to the church was her 20-year involvement with a shuttle ministry that helped bring people to worship services.

The plaque beneath the tree recognizes her 32 years of service to the children and teachers of Piedmont Unified School District.
Church Office Hours

The church office is now open weekdays from 9am to 3pm. Jean Leahy is available to receive your phone calls in person.

Otherwise, voicemail is available at all times and is checked throughout the day. Call (510) 547-5700

Email & Text Scam Continues

In late February, the church alerted parishioners to an email scam using Dr. Schibsted's name. Since that time, the scammer has begun texting staff and parishioners, asking for money.

The scammer uses a variety of email addresses and phone numbers, all pretending to represent Piedmont Church.

Church leaders and parishioners have notified the police.

What you need to know:

1) Piedmont Church clergy and staff will not solicit requests to purchase gift cards or to send money outside of familiar church giving channels

2) The solicitor’s email address is NOT a church email, rather a Gmail account using Dr. Schibsted’s name. Church staff emails use the PiedmontChurch.ORG domain only.

3) All church email accounts and databases are properly secured to help avoid security issues

4) You should not reply to emails or texts, or click on links containing requests for money

5) If you are suspicious about an email or text that appears to come from Dr. Schibsted or Piedmont Church, consider forwarding info to Director of Communications Michael Barber at or Associate Pastor Dr. Don Ashburn at Reports of email and text abuse are investigated.

6) Finally, consider blocking suspicious email accounts and phone numbers to avoid future correspondence
