FAMILIES, JOIN US IN ISRAEL IN 2019!
Come to Israel with us in 2019!

Is visiting Israel with your family on your wish list?
Well, now is the time to make it happen!

Rabbi Sharfman is busy planning a wonderful family trip to Israel right after school ends in 2019. The dates are
May 29-June 11, 2019 (non-stops to and from LAX on El Al). Imagine 12 nights in Israel and you can do Bar/Bat Mitzvahs on Massada while we are there!

Kids and adults will have a great time discovering the beauty, culture, history, and modernity that is unique to Israel. Fellow travelers of all ages find Rabbi Sharfman's joy delightfully contagious; and her ability to relate and share her knowledge is unmatched. Rabbi lived in Israel for many years and was a licensed tour guide there!

We can't wait to share this experience with your family, so let us hear from you! Email Renee to let her know you'd like to receive Israel trip updates.
AwardDR. EARL SHARFMAN CONGREGATIONAL SERVICE AWARD

We are delighted to announce that Jane Neely
will be presented with the Dr. Earl Sharfman
Congregational Service Award for 2016
and 2017 during our April 13 Kabbalat Shabbat.

Jane has donated many volunteer hours
to Congregation Kehillah and has supported
us in many ways behind the scenes.
In addition to serving on the Kehillah Board
of Directors, Jane has chaired the High Holy
Days Committee for the past two years and
is Co-Chair of our Hospitality Committee.

Please be sure to join us for Kabbalat Shabbat on April 13
as we honor Jane! Services will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The Dr. Earl Sharfman Congregational Service Award, established in 2013 by Earl's wife, Barbara Sharfman, is given to a Kehillah member who best embodies the legacy of Dr. Earl Sharfman.

In establishing this award, Barbara sought to celebrate and recognize those qualities in people who would continue the work, traditions, values, and lessons in which Earl believed so strongly.

Dr. Earl Sharfman, father of Rabbi Bonnie Sharfman, lived by example, demonstrating that service to others was the highest calling. By his actions, he inspired and motivated all those around him to reach for the best within themselves.
BAT MITZVAH of KATIE FABRICANT
The Congregation is invited to share in this simcha . . .

Katherine Molly Fabricant will be called to the Torah
on Saturday, April 28, 2018, 10:00 a.m.

Parents are Sara and David Fabricant.

For her mitzvah project, Katie is planning and
funding an enrichment program for Arrowhead
Elementary School, a Title 1 school located
in Phoenix and part of Paradise Valley Unified
School District.

While Bar/Bat Mitzvahs are not private affairs - as services they are open to all - we do request that you RSVP so the Kiddush luncheon can be planned for the appropriate number of attendees. Thank you.

SOCIAL ACTION
Kehillah Care Kits

Kehillah Care Kits are now available and you can replenish your supply whenever you come to Kehillah. We encourage you to keep Kits in your car to hand out as you see fit to those in need. Each Kit contains a pair of socks (one of the most requested items), a mini-bottle of water, and a Nutri-Grain bar.

This is an ongoing Social Action/Mitzvah project. We are requesting a donation of $18 for six bags (on the honor system). To make a donation and support this important project, please  visit our donation page . Then, under "FUND," choose "Social Action." In the message section, type in "Kehillah Care Kits."

For questions or to help with this project in the future, please email Renee.
OUR KEHILLAH FAMILY
Our new Memorial Board
Thanks to a generous donation from Dan and Evelyn Simon, in honor of Evelyn's birthday, a second Memorial Board for our Sanctuary has been ordered. Both Memorial Boards will be hung up in the Sanctuary in time for the High Holy Days 2018/5779. Now is the perfect time to order your engraved plaques to honor your loved ones who have passed away. For a donation of $360, individual names, with dates of birth and death, will be engraved on a plaque and added to our board. This fee includes a listing in our annually published Yizkor Book. Click here for the Memorial Board form. If you have any questions, please contact Renee.
