RESOURCES FOR OLDER ADULTS
|
|
Get help, have fun with JFCS programs
Jewish Family and Children's Service offers a variety of programs to help older adults continue to live
engaged and purposeful lives, as well
as help them maneuver through life's challenges.
> As Senior Concierge for the Valley Jewish
community, Janet Arnold Rees assists
older adults (or their
adult children) in finding help.
Several thousand individuals have been helped since the Senior Concierge program
began four years ago. According to Rees, the program has a
95% success rate in helping clients.
> The Creative Aging
program offers
Senior
Chorus, voice lessons, storytelling classes, Israeli
dance, and Readers Theatre. Participants range in
age from 64-92.
> Memory Café, offered monthly, provides
interactive arts experiences (music, movement, visual art, and more) to
individuals with cognitive issues and their care partners.
> A monthly program for the Holocaust Survivor community has recently been developed.
> The annual summer ice cream
social for seniors (60+) will be held on Sunday, August 4,
at 1:30 p.m. at Temple Chai. Everyone is welcome.
For more information about any of these programs, please email Janet Arnold Rees, Senior Concierge-Creative Aging Coordinator, or call her at 480-599-7198.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS
|
Rabbi's Discretionary Fund
Larry and Wendy Sunshine,
with appreciation and gratitude for Noah's Bar Mitzvah and Rabbi's friendship
|
Did you know . . .
that it is customary to donate at the time of Yizkor or when Kaddish is recited in memory of a loved one? It is also customary to make a donation when given an aliyah (honor) during a service.
Jewish Philanthropy: The Concept of Tzedakah is a much-admired practice throughout the world. "In Jewish tradition, tzedakah requires the donor share his or her compassion and empathy along with the money. Judaism teaches the belief that donors benefit from tzedakah as much [as] or more than the recipients."
You can find out more about the roots and practices of Jewish philanthropy at Learning to Give.
|
|
Your donations in any amount are genuinely appreciated.
Please help support Congregation Kehillah by donating to Kehillah's various funds
-- to celebrate, honor, remember, give thanks, to assist, or simply to do tzedakah.
You can donate through our website in any amount or send a check. Congregation Kehlllah is a 501(c)(3) organization; donations are tax-exempt to the fullest extent allowable by law. (Please consult with your tax adviser.)

Contact Renee for more information or to place your tree order.

Here's another great way to support Kehillah:
celebrate with an Oneg!
Sponsoring an Oneg is a great way to celebrate your lifecycle events
and other wonderful news with your Kehillah family.
For 2019-2020, we are aiming to have every Oneg sponsored.
To reserve your Oneg, please email Renee
or call her at 602-369-7667.
