A MITZVAH - A WAY TO HELP
For three weeks in a row, High School student and YEP! Madricha,
Naomi Fox,
made sandwiches for people in her
community. Then during a weekend, through the help of donations from her neighbors,
she made over 80 sandwiches that were added to meal bags and distributed in
a nearby park.

RESTAURANTS TO SUPPORT
Restaurants may be opening back up throughout AZ, but we know many of us are still staying in and either cooking, picking up food or having it delivered. We are thrilled to be partnering with these two local restaurants who have offered to donate back 10% of sales (or $5 per Pizza Kit ordered from Brad's Kitchen) to our members who mention Congregation Kehillah at the time of ordering. A congregant (who has taken classes herself through ASU Jewish Studies and has a passion for it) has offered to teach 3 sessions on American Jewish Literature. Please let Renee

Did you know . . .
that it is customary to donate at the time of Yizkor or when Kaddish is recited in memory of a loved one? It is also customary to make a donation when given an aliyah (honor) during a service.
Jewish Philanthropy: The Concept of Tzedakah is a much-admired practice throughout the world. "In Jewish tradition, tzedakah requires the donor share his or her compassion and empathy along with the money. Judaism teaches the belief that donors benefit from tzedakah as much [as] or more than the recipients."

Our Current Caribbean Treasures Exhibit - Temporarily Closed
Due to the rapid spread of the corona virus in our community, we have decided to temporarily close the Gallery; however we have extended this exhibit onsite through August 31, 2020.

Torah Talks are led by Rabbi Sharfman (except where noted) and are held monthly on Saturday mornings beginning at 10:30 a.m. via Zoom (for the time being.)They are among Kehillah's most-loved traditions -- mornings filled with questions, conversation, and laughter as we explore that week's Torah portion.
