We have gotten inquiries regarding the Machzorim that were distributed to members' use during this past HHD. In response: - Keep the Machzorim. They are prayerbooks and are not to be thrown out; - We hope that we are back in our building for next year's HHDs, but in the event we are not we will continue to use the same Machzorim; - If you have misplaced your copies, the reprinting charge will be $36; - New members will not be charged for Machzorim.

Are you interested in learning about Judaism? This is the place to do it! Jews and Non-Jews are all welcome to learn with Rabbi Bonnie.
This introductory course provides a foundation in the basic tenants of Judaism. Among areas covered are: History, Holidays and Observances, Life Cycle, Theology, Prayer, Israel and Communal Life.
This will be a virtual class through The Bureau of Jewish Education. There will be no charge when Congregation Kehillah members sign up by emailing to Renee here.

 HELPING HANDS BY DOING GOOD IN OUR COMMUNITY
An invitation for all who care about making the world a better place and improving lives....
We are a small congregation who do great things. Under the passionate leadership of Paulette Fraenkel, our social action work is a source of pride. We want to do more and are seeking members who want to work with us in doing good in our community. Please let us know of your interest to contribute ideas and roll up your sleeves (as you are able). We'll schedule a virtual organizational meeting soon.

 PEOPLE ARE STARVING...
All over Maricopa County, people wait in lines for hours at food banks to get food for their families. Those of us fortunate not to be in this situation need to step up and really help. This is a reminder that Mom's Pantry takes donations on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. They're located at 13440 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.
Monetary donations might be easier to manage during the current pandemic. You can send a check, written out to Mom's Pantry, to Renee and she will make sure it gets to Mom's Pantry. Food is so basic and children, especially, can't function in school on an empty stomach. Please be as generous as you can.
Thank you to those who already sent in gift cards and checks during the High Holy Days. As of October 8th, we have collected $391 which has been turned over to Mom's Pantry. Let's see if we can double our efforts during the month of October. Thank you in advance.
If you are able to drop off items, these are the products they currently need:

that it is customary to donate at the time of Yizkor or when Kaddish is recited in memory of a loved one? It is also customary to make a donation when given an aliyah (honor) during a service.

Torah Talks are led by Rabbi Sharfman (except where noted) and are held monthly on Saturday mornings beginning at 10:30 a.m. via Zoom (for the time being.)They are among Kehillah's most-loved traditions -- mornings filled with questions, conversation, and laughter as we explore that week's Torah portion. The Senior Concierge Project (through Jewish Family and Children's Service) can provide information and help with socialization, education, transportation, home care, living facilities, legal assistance and more for those over age 60. Remember "Mom" and the other women!
Reminder: There are hungry neighbors and families experiencing food insecurity throughout the Valley, throughout the year -- even if we can't always see it. And there are women who can't afford basic feminine products. Our food collection bin for Mom's Pantry is always in our lobby, and our Kehillah Cares bag for women4women tempe is in our ladies' room.
Please bring food
and toiletry donations whenever we are able to come back to Kehillah.
