PANDEMIC CANCELS ANNUAL CONNIE DAVIS WALK & ROLL EVENT
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the annual Connie Davis 5k Walk & Roll for Cancer ‘in-person’ event will not take place in 2021, but that should not dull the spirit of donating to a worthy cause.
LAUGHLIN – The first Saturday in March has, for the last 7 years, been dedicated to the annual Connie Davis 5k Walk & Roll for Cancer. This event, brought to you by the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce and dedicated local sponsors and volunteers, is the single event held each year in which proceeds are donated directly to the River Fund, Inc. Cancer Connection. These funds are allocated for those in need of assistance for medical transportation, medical supplies/therapies etc. and all funds stay local. This event, in recent years, has raised and donated upwards of $15k to The River Fund, Inc. Cancer Connection each April and is presented to the River Fund Board of Directors at the Laughlin Chamber’s Backyard Mixer – welcoming Spring.
The money raised from this event consists of local participants $25 entry fee. “Last year we had over 500 walkers, multiple sponsors and an abundance of volunteers and we were able to donate $13,447 to the Cancer Connection” Jackie Mazzeo, President/CEO said, “This event is not possible without all of your generosity and willingness to help those in our community who are suffering the effects of cancer.”
Though this ‘in-person’ event cannot take place in 2021, the Laughlin Chamber is opening the opportunity to donate to its worthy cause. Pledge Coupons will be awarded to those who donate $25 (any amount can be donated – only $25+ donations will receive a coupon). Your Pledge Coupon will enter you into the CD5KW Raffle, to be held the beginning of April in place of the Backyard Mixer. Your donation will be added to the total and be presented to the River Fund, Inc. Board of Directors during a private check presentation.

LOCAL BIKE WEEK ENDURES
March 16, 2021
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 15, 2021
Local Bike Week Endures: Carpe Diem
Locals of the Tri-state area and riders alike refuse to let the spirit of annual motorcycle rally be halted. Motorcyclists from all around have dedicated the week of April 21st-25th to riding through the Colorado River Region.
The weather will be perfect, the ride? Well, that’s up to you! There are many routes you can take in the beautiful Arizona North West!
Many had thought that the Local rally would be no more. When 2020 struck us with a global pandemic and everything that came with it, a lot of people stayed home with uncertainty. Still many rode in and traversed the local highways and frequented the local businesses for food, drinks, goods, and services, while enjoying the picturesque views and the nature found in the area. The Local community welcomes the riders as always and appreciates their yearly visits.
While the chips were down, there were individuals that just wouldn’t lose sight of what was needed, a little normalcy.
“We need something that would get us back from where we’ve been for the last year, maybe more.”
One of these Individuals is Larry Topping owner of Evolution Tattoo and Coordinator for the Ink Mayhem Tattoo Convention running in conjunction with the local motorcycle rally for the last 14 years. Larry Looking to move forward with plans to execute a 2021 Rally, has worked closely with the town of Laughlin as well as the City of Bullhead to bring all of the loose ends together.
“The loss of the Annual Rally would be a hard hit for the local community. Many locals look forward to the annual motorcycle event as do many local businesses both service and goods alike.”
Mayhem The Main Event is a much needed new face for bike week of the lower Colorado River Region, and it’s happening April 21st-24th, 2021 across the river from the usual Laughlin location. Mayhem The Main Event will be held at 2350 Miracle Mile, Bullhead City AZ (River View Mall.) Outside, there will be LIVE music and entertainment throughout, food/retail vendors, and beer garden.

Hello Laughlin Businesses,
As you are likely aware, Senate Bill 4 was signed about a week ago and there is a component regarding employer mandatory covid testing in Nevada (Clark County). Our good friends at the Riverside Resort were kind enough to take the lead and secure a lab to open up testing on Casino Dr. every Tuesday & Thursday 9am-4pm.
Please consult your HR or legal advisors on Senate Bill 4, but if you would like to take advantage of this testing in Laughlin, please see the notes below on how to create your employer account so you can send employees there as needed.
We hope you find this useful. We are also attaching a flier that was created to give to your team members.
Employers should follow this link (or click the button below):
A confirmation email will be sent that will give you access to the portal and allow you to on-board your employees.

LAUGHLIN —The annual Connie Davis 5K Walk & Roll for Cancer has been canceled as an in-person event in 2021 but organizers hope that won't dull the spirit of donating to a worthy cause.

Laughlin Community Health Center awarded vaccines by Nevada
LAUGHLIN — Though the Laughlin Community Health Center opened its doors to patients in January, Donna Kelly has been a very busy practitioner since then.
Aside from building her clientele in Laughlin, Kelly opened just as the national COVID-19 vaccination program was beginning. The program is well in motion across most of the nation. Pfizer, Moderna and now Johnson & Johnson all have approved vaccines in circulation and while Nevada has had a bit of difficulty in securing large quantities of any of them, they also have had to roll out a lot of personnel and money to administer them.
Twice the Clark County Fire Department in cooperation with the Southern Nevada Health District and the Nevada National Guard and other agencies have rolled into Laughlin for vaccination clinics.

City Council approves code changes for recreation marijuana businesses
BULLHEAD CITY — Members of the Bullhead City Council opted to move forward with changes to the municipal code section on zoning Tuesday that would affect future recreational marijuana establishments, testing facilities and cultivation.
The need for new code language is the result of Arizona voters approving legalization of recreational marijuana last November.
Mayor Tom Brady suggested adding language that would limit marijuana cultivation to the city's general limited industrial zoning, M1.
That type of zoning is for operations that require large space for manufacturing, development, wholesale and heavy commercial uses which "while not necessarily attractive in operational appearances, are installed and operated in a manner so as not to cause inconvenience to other uses in the district or to adjacent districts," according to a pamphlet about commercial and industrial zones in the city.

More Than 1 Million Arizonans Now Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19
More than 1 million Arizonans—approximately one in seven residents—are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Governor Doug Ducey and the Arizona Department of Health Services announced today. Arizona is making plans to continue the momentum as temperatures heat up and in anticipation of increased vaccine supply and opening vaccination to everyone 16 and older by May 1.
“Every dose of the COVID-19 vaccine administered to an Arizona resident represents an essential step forward in our fight against COVID-19,” said Governor Ducey. “I’m so grateful to the thousands of staff and volunteers at vaccination sites statewide for their dedication and hard work, which has made this milestone possible.”
As of Tuesday morning, 1,007,600 Arizonans have received either both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine. A total of 2,590,447 doses have been administered to 1,628,587 individuals since COVID-19 vaccine doses began arriving in Arizona in December.
