Asbury Room "Faith, Equality and Gender-Based Violence in Africa”
All are invited to hear Amy Chase (PhD. candidate, Drew University) report on her trip to Uganda, where she spoke at a conference addressing issues related to women’s equality. Amy spoke on Proverbs 31, which is a text well-known in Africa and often interpreted in ways that subordinate women. While at the conference, she met leaders of many churches and other organizations working to promote women’s equality and decrease violence against women. It was eye-opening!
