Holidays and winter weather are especially stressful for our families struggling with poverty, homelessness, estrangement, misfortune, and injustice. Our hospitality is their exaltation, dignifying and strengthening their lives. Don’t hesitate to call Claudia with questions about the ministry.

A Celebration of the Life of
Arthur C. Wenzel III will be held at Chatham UMC on Tuesday, January 22 nd , at 10:30 am.

Art was born on July 31, 1921 and entered Life Eternal on January 5, 2019. His adult life was formed through his service as a medic in WWII. Through his service to the wounded, he received 2 Purple Hearts, 2 Bronze Stars and was awarded the Legion of Honor from the French Government. He spent his career at Exxon. What brought him the most joy was spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Art was active at the Chatham UMC before moving out of the area about 20 years ago.

The 2018 Winter Warming Giving Tree
Thank You!
The CUMC Youth would like to thank the church for being so generous in giving for our annual Christmas Giving Tree for the children at CUMAC. This year it was focused on giving warmth to the children at CUMAC.
Our 2018 Giving Tree collected a total of 37 hats, 35 mittens and 7 scarves for aged young babies to young teens!
We thank the congregation for responding to this wonderful ministry for almost 20 years! None of this could have been accomplished without you! The generosity of this congregation is wonderful! Thinking of others is what makes this congregation so special!
Thank you and God Bless You,
The Middle School Youth and
David and Becky Meyer
This week we received a lovely thank you letter from Jersey Battered Women's Service in Morristown. Please click here to read the letter . The original letter can be found on the Member's Bulletin Board .

Luminaries in Celebration of
Dr. Martin Luther King
This Weekend!
Please join us for the 2 nd Annual community event and help foster a community that is hopeful, connected, and kind. The event will take place at the Library of the Chathams on Sunday January 20 th from 2:30-4:30pm . At the event, you'll get your luminary kit and decorate it with messages of peace, love, and hope, while in the good company of your neighbors! If you'd like a kit but can't attend, message email and we'll arrange for a pick up or drop off.
We ask that everyone light their luminaries at 5pm on the night of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 21 st , 2019. Luminary kits contain white “peace” bags and candles. Luminary kits were generously donated by the Rotary Club of the Chathams - it is with a full heart that we thank them!
