We Remember
Jennifer Kennedy, who grew up in the Chatham UMC, entered Life Eternal on Sunday, October 21, 2018 after a battle with cancer. She was 53 years old. A Service will be held for Jennifer on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 2:00 PM in our sanctuary. The Kennedy Family invites people to wear something pink to the service. There will be a light reception in Rodda Hall after the service.

Let us keep Jennifer’s daughter Marissa, Jennifer’s parents Rich and Faye, and Jennifer’s sister Leslie in our prayers. Words of love and support can be sent to:

Saturday, October 27 th , 2:00 PM CUMC Sanctuary
This Sunday, October 28 th a list of names of those who passed this year will be placed outside the Sanctuary. If someone you know has passed since November 1, 2017, and you would like his or her name lifted up during our annual All Saint's Day Service on November 4 th, you may add the names of loved ones to this list. You may also contact the church office. Additionally, if you have friends or neighbors who have lost loved ones in the past year, please invite them to contact us with the names, and invite them to worship with us at our All Saint's Day Service. 
Monday Noontime Bible Study

Bible Study on Thursday Evening

Three sessions of Evening Bible Study are offered this fall for those who may be interested in joining Bible Study in the evenings (October 18, November 1, and November 15). Volunteers from CUMC are needed in two shifts to extend a warm welcome and kind hospitality to our many guests from the Gateway District North for the annual Super Church Conference on Saturday, November 3 rd.
First Shift: 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM / Second Shift: 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Six individuals are needed for each shift to welcome and assist in directing our guests throughout our facilities. Three more individuals are needed to help with refreshment tables in Rodda Hall. A total of 9 members are needed per shift.

Sunday, November 4 th All Saints Day Service Special Service we will recognize  All Saints Day with a special service at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. This is an ancient tradition in which Christians remember loved ones who have finished their courses in faith, and now live in the heavenly realm. We will light candles in their memory, speak their names, toll the bell, and give God thanks for their lives and their homecoming into Eternal Life.

  • Rebecca Circle: The Rebecca Circle invites all UMW members to attend their November 6, 2018 (Tuesday) gathering at 1:00 pm in the Asbury Room. Mark Dinglasan, Executive Director of CUMAC will be telling us about CUMAC. Please bring a canned vegetable or meat for the CUMAC pantry.

Tuesday, November 20 th Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Worship Service 7:30 PM at CUMC This year we will be hosting. Please hold the date to attend but we will also need about 25 CUMC members to welcome and extend hospitality to our Chatham neighbors as they arrive for the service. Local senior citizens are invited to the final dress rehearsal on Thursday, November 15 th at 3:30 PM. Immediately following the performance, seniors are invited to stay for a complimentary dinner. Seating is unrestricted however, dinner reservations are limited to 80. Help Us "STAMP OUT DESPAIR”
Chatham UMC is continuing to support First Friends of NJ and NY in their efforts to "Stamp Out Despair". At this time we are collecting writing materials for detainees, asylum seekers, and refugees who are being held in detention centers in NJ so that they may be able to keep in touch with family members. Chatham UMC is supporting with the collection of the following: PAPER, ENVELOPES, STAMPS, and PHONE CARDS.
