Meet Terry Wiese, Facilities Manager

Terry was born and raised in Madison. He attended St. James for grade school and then Madison West. For 35 years, Terry was a painter. He has a son, Tyler, who lives in Las Vegas. In his free time, Terry loves playing golf and riding his bike. He also enjoys taking walks with his dog, Mr. Puddles.

The photo above is from when Terry worked as the Valet at the Veterans Hospital in Madison. He worked there for three years until the need for surgery made him stop. Terry loves helping people in the community and says that SRUMC is definitely a great community. He loves working here because all of the people have been incredibly nice and kind to him.

If you see Terry around, make sure you stop and say hi!

May 3, 10:45am

If you are enjoying your time at Sugar River UMC, we want to welcome you to the family and help you grow in faith.

We’d like to invite you to learn more about the church and consider joining as members. It’s also a great opportunity to meet some other people who are new or new-ish to the church. We’re going to be meeting on Sunday, May 3 after worship, and we’d love it if you could join us. Pastor Mike will be leading our time together, and he looks forward to answering your questions and getting to know you better, too.

Please let us know either way—We'd love to know if you’re coming, and if you can’t make this date and are interested, we’ll happily schedule another time soon that works for you.

Join Our Volunteer Team

Sugar River is more than just a place. It is a community shaped by people just like you who are willing to lend a hand. We are currently looking for a few more volunteers to help before, during and after worship services.

There are several ways to get involved depending on your interests and comfort level:

Greeters set the tone for the morning with a warm smile and a friendly hello. It's a great way to make everyone feel welcome as they arrive. Greeters serve one Sunday a month on a standing rotation.

Offering Counters work behind the scenes in pairs to help count the offering. Counters serve on a rotation, with each pair counting roughly once a month.

Worship Assistants read the Welcome and share God's word during the service. If you enjoy reading or want to try something new, this is a great opportunity. Worship Assistants read once a month on a standing rotation.

Communion Preparers take care of getting everything reads for this meaningful part of the first service of each month. It is a quiet but important way to service. This can be done on the day before the service or the morning of the service.

If you are interested or just curious to learn more, feel free to reach out to the church office or chat with Pastors Mike or Erin. We'd be glad to have you join!
