This Sunday's Message at 9:30 am
Starting Well
Strength: Care for the Body
"Love and a Strong Cardio"
Our physical health matters to God, and it should matter to us. Every heartbeat and every breath is a gift, and there is a strong biblical connection between our physical and spiritual wellness. In the Hebrew Scriptures, we find the prophet of Isaiah proclaiming, “God gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” Who’s up for a walk?
Virtual Worship
We offer a Sunday service Livestream at 9:30 am on YouTube.
Please let us know you are in service virtually (and in person too!) with "mobile check-in" via the Realm App*! (Tap "more" first in the lower right corner.)
*Note: If you are a first-time Realm user, you'll need to create a login online first and create a password before logging into the App.

Sugar River UMC Church Conference Report
Sunday, January 16, 2022, 10:30 AM
A vote of YES
Last Sunday, January 16th at 10:30 AM, Sugar River UMC had a Church Conference to vote on the MCCI Report Prescriptions. After 3 Town Hall meetings in the previous week (designed to help folks ask about the prescriptions and their impact on life and ministry), a church vote was taken in person at the Church Conference meeting led by the District Superintendent, Rev. Scott Carlson. The congregation voted yes, by over 90%, to affirm the prescriptions and move forward as a congregation into the coming year. The Servant Leadership Board, pastor, and staff will be working to prepare our congregation for an exciting and challenging year of connecting, growing, and serving in our relationship with God and others. More information on the movement forward will be coming soon with opportunities for each person to identify their sense of call and involvement (while staying safe in the current pandemic).
The prescriptions are hospitality and worship, staffing and leadership organization, and outreach to the community.

Covid Update
Dear Sugar River Family,
As the COVID infection rate is high right now, the staff at Sugar River is working to create a safe place for in-person worship services. Please be cautious and make decisions that keep you and others safe. The YouTube Livestream will be operating and if you choose to attend worship, please ensure you don't have COVID symptoms. Also, please wear a quality mask (double mask if needed), maintain 6 feet (this is hard to do, but let's do our best), and be vaccinated (those who are able).
Let's honor God and express concern for our neighbors and ourselves by doing our best to keep each other safe. We can do this! We may be in a much better place in just a few weeks. We will do our best to keep you aware of the Sugar River UMC pandemic protocol.
Pastor Gary

Let’s Cover (the Cost of) the Floor!
Yes, here is a neat and simple opportunity for us to offer support to our facility renovations! Fellowship Hall is looking great so far and one of the final steps to its completion is the flooring. As a way of covering this cost, we are offered the opportunity to purchase carpet tiles for only $20 per piece! Every donation will help free more funds for completing the full “Restoration” project at Sugar River UMC. We are so thankful for your generous gifts!
Check out the chart near the entryway to see the progress!
It's easy! Just decide how many squares you'd like to sponsor; write a check to SRUMC with "Carpet" in the memo or visit the Give page and select 'Restoration Campaign' in the dropdown menu.

SERVE Celebration: Red Cross Blood Drives: 1/6 and 1/12!
We are so delighted to have hosted TWO blood drives at SR within ONE week!
January 6th drive: Here's a note from the coordinator:
"Allow me to personally thank you for your service. Your blood drive collected 44 units from 47 people, 39 whole blood and 5 power reds and that means more life, more love, more memories for the most vulnerable patients in our community—those suffering unexpected trauma and chronic illness every day. It was a pleasure to partner with you and your colleagues, and we’re so happy to have you in our American Red Cross family."
January 12th drive: The Red Cross collected:
38 pints from 39 people, 34 whole blood 4 power reds and 2 first time donors!
Our next drive is scheduled for 3/29...please sign up to donate here as the date approaches. In the meantime, there is a serious need for donors - you can find other drives near you everyday, just click here.
Thank you for considering the life-saving opportunity!
