It's official! As you know, we have been pleased to welcome Josh Miller as our new Administrative Director. Jamie Day has worked closely with Josh for the last several weeks and they are confident he is ready to take the baton!
We want thank Jamie from the bottom of our hearts for her tireless and loving service to Sugar River all these years. Jamie, you will be greatly missed on staff, but enjoy your new, precious grandbaby and we'll see you around church!
If you would like to meet Josh in person and offer Jamie your well wishes, come to worship this Sunday as we will be formally recognizing this transition during our Discipleship Moment!
This Sunday's Message
Looking Up: Anyone Up There?
 Psalm 121
Looking up is not easy. It holds a trust that we are not alone, and that the Divine holds an interest in our wellbeing. The Psalmist sought to trust in the God above, to meet us in our place of being...to be with us...yes, even you and me.

Order of Service is HERE if you'd like to print or have it on your phone have it during worship.

Online service will premiere at 1pm; participate on YouTube or Facebook
Be sure to say hello, tap like, or send us a message whenever you watch!
An Evening with Boiling Point: Hope Lives Here
Monday, August 2nd at 7:00pm
We are so excited to welcome Boiling Point! Mark your calendar for this free, community event right here at Sugar River. Experience the video presentation "Hope Lives Here" produced by the band on a visit to Sierra Leone, Africa accompanied by an acoustic set of their songs. Boiling Point’s music* has been played on Q90 in Madison.

HERE is a pdf to email or print out to invite friends. All are welcome!
We also have these cards available at the church as well as posters if you would like to hang one in your workplace or on area community boards.
*"Although Boiling Point listeners might come for the passionate vocals and memorable guitar hooks, the independent rock band’s emotional depth and unflinching honesty is what keeps crowds coming back. 'Hope Lives Here' has already been a top 5 song in the CMW Rock Radio Charts, as well as unexpectedly jumping onto the CMW CHR/AC Charts Top 20."

Did you know Sugar River houses the Verona Schools Community Closet?

This closet allows a consistent, singular location for the school social workers to efficiently access needed items to support the children in our district.

We are asking for the following specific items:
  • Gifts cards for Target, Miller's, and Kwik Trip in $5, $10, and $20 increments
  • NEW socks, underwear, and gym shoes for children 5-18 years old
  • Hygiene products:
  • bar soap
  • travel size shampoo and conditioner
  • disposable razors
  • toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • feminine hygiene products

Please bring all items to the SERVE table this month so we can prep the closet for the start of the school year! Monetary donations always welcome (please indicate "Community Closet" in the memo).

Please also note that we WILL be collecting winter gear for the closet as winter approaches so keep that gear on hand and know we will need it to make sure all of our community children stay warm this winter!
