This Sunday's Message at 9:30am
In The Game To Win!
"Moving Mountains"
Matthew 17:14-20
District Super Intendent Scott Carlson, along with Pastor Gary, will be giving this week's message. See what they have to say about moving mountains here at Sugar River!

Also during the Children's Message, we will be doing our annual Bible Presentation! We have a tradition of presenting students with Bibles at different times in their life. 3 year olds, 2nd graders and 4th graders will be presented a Bible this week. We invite families with children in these age groups to be there this Sunday to receive their Bible! If you have any questions, please email Kimmie.

Everyone is invited to wear their favorite team apparel to the service!

Virtual Worship
If you are participating online, we offer a livestream service at 9:30 am on YouTube.
Please let us know you are in service virtually (and in person too!) with "mobile check in" via the Realm App! (Tap "more" first in the lower right corner.)
Email the church office if you have any questions about Realm.

We also have our Sunday morning worship service playing live on the TV right outside our entryway for those who feel more comfortable being outdoors (weather permitting). Feel free to grab a cup of coffee, bring your lawn chairs, and still gather together at The River!
Lift your Voice!

October Monthly Mission: Thanksgiving and Christmas Meal Bags

The BPNN Food Pantry provides a Thanksgiving and/or Christmas Meal bag for any local family during their time of need this holiday season. We are delighted to once again feature the BPNN's Thanksgiving and Christmas meal bags as a monthly mission this October! Similar to last year, things might look a bit different this year....

This year, the pantry is asking that we help fund the purchase of pies for the Thanksgiving baskets and fruit for the Christmas baskets. The anticipated cost is $6.50 for each pie and $20 for the fruit for each basket.

They are also asking for the following items:

  • Large aluminum roasting pans (to distribute with the turkeys),
  • Sugar
  • Flour
  • Cooking oil

The BPNN anticipates distributing 400 Thanksgiving and 400 Christmas baskets this year! How many families can we help enjoy a meal during this blessed time of year?

We will be collecting the Thanksgiving items on the SERVE table throughout October! Interested in donating financially? Click here to give online (click the Give tab and select the Missions-food pantry line item) or send a check to SRUMC with food pantry in the memo!

Thank you for sharing love and joy this holiday season!
SERVE Celebration: Verona Warm Winters

Thank you so much for you generous donations, the SERVE table is full, WONDERFUL! While Verona Warm Winters Project was our September Monthly Mission, we are going to continue to collect items throughout the month given the continued community need.

We are asking for the following gently used and clean donations:

Winter Jackets - (child - adult sizes)
Snow pants - (child - adult sizes)
Winter boots - (child - adult sizes)
Waterproof winter mittens/gloves - (child - adult sizes)

Please bring all items washed and ready for distribution. You can set them on the SERVE table! We thank you for your generous hearts as we work to ensure all children in the VASD stay warm this winter!
SERVE Celebration: Red Cross Blood Drive, 9/28!

Here is a letter from the Red Cross regarding our most recent Blood Drive:

"Thank you so much for partnering with the American Red Cross. We are truly grateful for your commitment of time and support. The work you do makes a difference to so many in need.
The blood drive you held resulted in 45 pints of blood from 43 people, 29 whole blood and 16 power reds. Your efforts have helped boost the community blood supply and ensure hospital patients have the lifesaving blood they depend on.
The Red Cross depends on the important work that volunteers like you do. Your support does not go unnoticed and we hope to build on this partnership with you."

Thank you to everyone who played a role in making this life-saving ministry happen, once again, at Sugar River!
SERVE Celebration: Afghan Refugee Support
