We want to thank everyone for their ongoing participation in all of our online cathedral offerings to date. It truly inspires us to find creative ways to continue to bring the cathedral to you in a whole new way. We are so grateful for this community!

To kick off this Friday morning with some good news, we are excited to share that because of your generosity- and a match from The Coombe Fund- the cathedral was able to raise $26,790 for the Mount Healthy Alliance food pantry ! Donations for the Easter offering are always appreciated, and now more than ever, each dollar can make the difference for a local family who struggles to put food on the table.

This week we shared a letter from your Vestry with you, to begin to communicate some of the details around Dean Greenwell’s upcoming retirement. (If you did not receive that email, you can reference it here. ) Your church leadership recognizes how difficult Gail's departure will be for so very many. We will continue to keep our community informed about important dates surrounding her departure.

As such, a reminder that Sunday, May 17, will be Dean Gail's last liturgical Sunday before her departure into retirement. We are pleased to announce, though, that Gail and her husband Jim will be returning for a “farewell Sunday” live and in-person, on September 27. We will offer a single worship service on that day (Annual Meeting Sunday), and Gail will be the celebrant.

And notably, THIS SUNDAY Gail will be preaching her last sermon at all three Sunday online services. You're not going to want to miss it !🙂
And as we speak of the leadership of the cathedral- present and past- we would like to share that we were informed that our brother in Christ, the Rev. Milton Saville , died on April 14. He was 95 years old.

Milton served congregations in Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Tokyo. He served as an assistant at Christ Church (before we were a cathedral) from 1955 to 1958, returned to Christ Church as an assistant in 1983, and then served as interim rector from 1984 to 1987.

No information about memorial services or interment is available at this time.

O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered: Accept our prayers on behalf of thy servant, Milton, and grant him an entrance into the land of light and joy, in the fellowship of thy saints, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

COMING NEXT WEEK: As certain parts of our city and state begin to reopen, what might that look like for the future of worship?
