The Diocese of Southern Ohio and Christ Church Cathedral have been working together for months to identify the best timing and practices available to safely resume in-person Sunday worship.

Both organizations- and the people in them- recognize how eager our community is for the fellowship and belonging that comes from being together in worship.

This letter from your Senior Warden , Dr. Michael Henrickson, went out earlier today to inform our community about the current plan to be back in the worship space in a limited capacity beginning in July for the Sunday 10 AM service.

In addition, we also would like to offer this regathering resource and these answers to your frequently asked questions as we look to move forward.

While we are heartened at the opportunity to be together again for in-person worship, the reality is that this offering will only be successful in so long as the guidelines to gather are followed by all persons, and state regulations on gathering continue to support our ability to offer it.

We will continue to send out additional information to our community as we get closer to July, so please check your email and watch our website page as well.

While we are on the subject of COVID-19, you may have recognized the faces of two of our cathedral members being interviewed on local news this week about an online COVID survivor support group that will be offered through the cathedral. You can watch the news clip here or down below, and if you - or someone you know- would like information about attending this online COVID support group, simply call 513.621.1817 and let them know you are interested!

Now let's take a look at what's coming up...
JUNETEENTH BUILDING SCHEDULE & RESOURCES

In observance of Juneteenth, the Bishop’s office and the Cathedral offices (both remote and onsite) will be closing at noon today.  Our Diocesan community stands against racial injustice and inequality.  We encourage our community to visit the diocesan website social justice and mission page to learn more here , as well as our Becoming Beloved Community website.

Additionally, in celebration of Juneteenth, the National Civil Rights Museum will host a special conversation with star and executive producer of Apple’s acclaimed film,  The Banker , Anthony Mackie, and star Nia Long, with Dr. Noelle Trent, the museum's Director of Interpretation, Collections and Education. The discussion, moderated by journalist Michele Norris, premieres at 1pm CDT and will center on the film’s empowering themes of positive social change.

Using segments of the film as a backdrop, the panel provides historic context to what Black life was like in that time period and how the issues then relate to economic situations today. The talk is hosted on the museum’s  website  and  Facebook   Live and can be viewed any time after the premiere. The Banker is available to watch for free worldwide June 18-30, on the Apple TV app.
