FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Hi All,

With December officially upon us, I want to remind you all of our practice for outdoor recess in the colder weather. It is so important for kids to get outdoors to play and get some fresh air, so if the “real feel” is 20 degrees or higher, we do hold outdoor recess. It is imperative that students have appropriate attire; e.g. jackets, gloves, long pants for these days. Please help us make sure kids have what they need to have a safe and fun recess experience by equipping your child before he/she arrives at school.

As a “winter gear” reminder, please know that we still have our “Lost and Found” rack in the front vestibule. We are reminding students during the day to check lost and found and collect their items. Please encourage your child to take a look for any belongings before the holiday break – we plan to donate the remaining articles at that time.

Finally, on behalf of all teachers – thanks for your engagement during conference week! Your questions and interest in your child’s progress are a vital part of maintaining productive, student-centered partnerships!

Thanks,

Luke

FROM THE PTO

Dear Ox Ridge Parents,

What a busy week here at Ox Ridge! It is hard to believe that we are already in December. It was so nice to see so many parents around school this week for conferences while kids were able to participate in a week of fun after school programming. From pottery class, rocket making, scooter races to beloved Gingerbread houses decorating it was a busy week!

None of these events would be possible without all of our parent volunteers- thank you for your time and your consideration on making these events a success. Don’t forget that DAS Winter registration opens on December 4th at 8pm! This week we look forward to the Marc Brackett Parent workshop at the Darien High School and we hope to see you there. Please note that there is no sign up for this event. We have decided to move our Sono Event to later on in the year to accommodate busy schedules so please keep an eye out for the new date.

December 19-23 we are doing a full week of fun Ox spirit to get everyone excited! Please see the schedule above  for the daily themes. Community is so important for all of us here at OxRidge. Your feedback is always appreciated and encouraged!
